A higher hardness is generally synonymous of a good wear resistance and, in turn, longer durability over the time.<\/p>\n<p>By carrying out different heat treatments, it is possible to act on the hardness of the steels used for the manufacture of the slides and, therefore, to increase their useful life.<\/p>\n<p>The usual heating treatments offered by Zorrotz are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Through Hardening:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The part is fully heated and tempered down to the \u201ccore\u201d of the piece.<\/li>\n<li>The Slide-Way will have the same hardness all over.<\/li>\n<li>Allows achieving very high resistance to compression.<\/li>\n<li>Not suitable for extremely thick slideways.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Induction tempering:<\/strong> Surface treatment<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The
